Skopje,18th of May 2015

Minister of Information Society and Administration Ivo Ivanovski and the Director of the Agency for Electronic Communications Robert Ordanoski announced ’The International regulatory conference 2015' to take place in Ohrid, 18-19 May. The purpose of the event is to discuss about the latest achievements in the ICT sector.

"The participants at the conference", said Ivanovski, "will have a chance to discuss the ways of advancing the Broadband Internet and other topics of interest for the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia as well as EU.

,,This shows once again that the Republic of Macedonia is located on the map of telecommunication development and it’s a great honour for us, " Ivanovski said, recalling the latest report from the World Economic Forum where Macedonia has seen further improvement, rising by 10 positions to take the 47th place i.e. advancing 20 positions over the last two years.

At the press conference Ivanovski also referred to the regional roaming initiative by which, starting from June 30th, citizens of Macedonia will pay drastically lower price for roaming services when traveling in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. ”Together with our neighbouring countries we've managed to establish our own regulatory market ahead of EU member countries”, Minister Ivanovski said.

"This is the third year as we are organizing the international conference, involving prominent persons from Macedonia and abroad, government officials, regulators, representatives of ITU, the European Union, operators and key representatives of the Macedonian and world market for electronic communications", said Robert Ordanoski, Director of the Agency for Electronic Communications.
