Working meeting for the realization of urgent reform priorities for EU integration

Minister of Information Society and Administration Marta Arsovska Tomovska held a working meeting together with the Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, Fatmir Besimi.


Within the 'Institutional visit'-an initiative of the Secretariat for European Affairs, the meeting was dedicated to activities for realization of urgent reform priorities needed for EU integration.


"Our Ministry is in charge of public administration reform as well as media reforms. The European Commission Progress Report and Priebe recommendations required rigorous implementation of the new legal framework in the sector of public administration", said Minister Arsovska Tomovska, adding that the upgrading of the Agency of Administration to a modern center for job applicants selection will be among topics of discussion.


"This system will be one of the largest of its kind, a so-called 'the public sector register', including not only data of employees, but also institutions and their organizational structure, salaries, transfer list for effect measurement etc ", Arsovska Tomovska said.


The field of media was also topic of discussion: ways to improve the work of the broadcasting service, strengthening its capacity and the need to adopt a Code of Professional Standards. The participants emphasized the commitment in continuing the dialogue with journalists and media associations on all initiatives in this sphere.


Except members of the working groups and Senior Officers in the Ministry, Director of Agency for audio and audiovisual media services Zoran Trajchevski, Director of State Administrative Inspectorate Romeo Dereban, and Zaklina Nikolovska Director of the Agency of Administration, also participated in the working meeting.
