Minister Ivanovski presented fifth school completely supplied with computers

The Minister of Information Society Ivo Ivanovski, Mi.Sc., visited High School “Taki Daskalo” on 29 of April 2008 together with the mayor of Bitola Mr. Vladimir Taleski. That is the fifth school which in the frames of the project “Computer for every child” was completely supplied with computers.

There are 20 cabinets with 1044 computer posts in the school which are completely equipped. This school is one of bigger secondary schools in Macedonia. There are 1830 students being educated in this school, in four occupation (mining, traffics, graphics, textile) and gymnasium, whereas 106 teachers are included in the stuff training project, mostly young people ready to accept challenge of the present time and of times to come.

Aside fro this school, there are another four secondary schools in Bitola that are completely computerized: Gjordji Naumov, Jovan Kalauzi, Jane Sandanski and State school of music.

The plan of the Government is to completely equip all secondary schools till the beginning of August and all primary till September.

For the use of this project the Government furnished 98.710 computers which will completely equip 93 high and 354 primary schools. The first phase comprises 2/3, but there will be an additional number of computers next year for the last 1/3 of pupils, from lower grades.

Beside “Computer for every child” the Government also implements the project “The world in hand” which provides free of charge use of internet in the Internet cafes throughout the country, as well as free training for all citizens who want to learn to work with computers and to use internet. Also there is 20 % increase of the state quota for informatics at the faculties of the State Universities and there is a University for Information Technologies in opening phase.
