Meeting for e-infrastructure in South-Eastern Europe

On 21-th of February 2008 in Atina, a meeting was held for e-infrastructure in South-Eastern Europe which, for the needs of the Minister for Information Society Ivo Ivanovski, was attended by Kiril Samardzioski, collaborator in the cabinet of the Minister without portfolio for information society development, and professor Aneta Buckovska, member of the management board of MARNET.

On the meeting organized by SEE-GRID-2 project of the European commission (development of GRID e-infrastructure in South-Eastern Europe), supported by the Greek scientific research network-GRNET, professor Buckovska gave presentation of the national scientific research network and the grid initiatives for the Republic of Macedonia. The goal was to gather the political representatives from Governments in South-Eastern Europe, for giving full support for development on e-infrastructure on national level and in the region, and also those responsible for the implementation of the activities for e-infrastructure in their country (12 in total).

On the meeting every representative responsible for the implementation of the activities for e-infrastructure presented the national grid initiatives and in that way the participating countries exchanged their experience regarding their current status of their e-infrastructure.



And the end, all members agreed that the current dynamic mutual cooperation on the implementation of the common vision and regional strategy for to e-infrastructure development should be continued.
