University of Informatics technologies

The fundamental reason for opening a University of informatics technology with a headquarter in Skopje are the needs of the Republic of Macedonia for a highly educational institutions, which will offer study programs harmonized with the modern trends in the informatics societies.   

This is the only way for Macedonia to make an approximation to the new technologies and will make a step forward in comparison to the countries in the region. The foundation of this university will be an accomplishment of our declaration “e-Macedonia” and the number of students of information society will increase as well as implementing of simulative programs for reducing the out flow of already trained staff in the foreign countries.    


Within the frames of this university there will be seven faculties and two institutes:

  • Faculty for computer sciences and engineering,
  • Faculty for networks and communicational technologies,
  • Faculty for technologies of information society,
  • Faculty for media technologies ,
  • Faculty for informatics systems and services,
  • Faculty for bio-medical engineering,
  • Faculty for robotic,
  • Institute for applied sciences and technologies,
  • Institute for basic researches.


At the beginning, the new university will be located in rented premises, and in a period of 4 to 5 years we will build a university building, sport gym and a student dormitory in Skopje.


Expected gains:

    • The studies will be with more quality and more adopted to the fast changes which follow the areas of informatics technologies;
    •  The studies will be in English ;
    • In the first 8 to 10 years, over 50 %  of the professors will be from prestigious universities from USA and Europe, whose salaries will be covered by the Government;
    • Ai quality staff will be concentrated in Macedonia, which with its scientific and trained action, will give a contribution for finding solutions for economic reviving of Macedonia; 
    • The students migration in neighboring countries will be reduced;
    • It will attract the informatics educational – scientific staff, which in the last 20 years has left the country  and with that better conditions will be made for linking with the academic institutions  and explorers throughout the world;
    • Preconditions for opening new work places will be made;
    • Conditions for attracting investments and creating a suitable climate for incubating new high-tech will be made.
