On the occasion of the cooperation between the Microsoft Macedonia and the nongovernmental sector in the country, today a gathering even was held in Skopje. On the meeting they discussed the “Cloud Computing” commercial, as well as technologies available to users that provide easier way of communication in cooperation with the NGO sector. Furthermore, one of the major topics was the use of social media in everyday work of organizations, and possibility for getting grants from the Microsoft Cyber Program.

Also, the event was attended by a representative of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, who described the goals of the new e-Democracy project aimed for civic organizations.

The speed of information and communication development in a modern society enabled big changes in the communication culture. In the process of e-democracy introduction is particularly important to point out that technology is not a solution but a tool that can facilitate democratic processes.

The e-Democracy portal introduction is a response to the need for introducing a new modern method of public debate that would provide simpler and more accessible way for citizens’ participation in building public policies.

The portal solution would enable citizens of the Republic of Macedonia to express their views on draft documents of the Government in a simpler and easily accessible way, and thus actively participate in the process of decision making.
