Ministerial Forum on ICT in Singapore

Today, within her official visit to the Republic of Singapore, the Deputy Minister of information society and administration Marta Arsovska Tomovska had a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister of policy coordination in the Ministry of Interior and Communication of Japan Jamakava Tecuo, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Forum on ICT organized by the World Economic Forum.

 

The meeting was initiated by the discussions during the Ministerial Forum, that concerned the ways in which information and communication technologies could be applied in economic growth and competitive development in the world. The discussion included achievements of both countries in the ICT field.

 

After the ceremonial opening of the 2012 Asian Summit on Information Technologies and communications in which took part representatives of the IES and the Agency of Foreign Economy of the Republic of Singapore, there was a discussion on possibilities for further cooperation in respect of investments of Singaporean companies as direct foreign investments in the Republic of Macedonia.

 

The visit of the Deputy Minister of information society and administration finished with a bilateral meeting with representatives of the Government Agency for ICT Development, which makes Singapore the leading world power in the ICT field with more than 1.700 electronic services to citizens and companies. In the meeting they agreed to deepen cooperation between Singapore and Macedonia through exchange of good practices, experiences and knowledge in the e-government field. Soon, it is expected a memorandum on cooperation to be signed which will define programs and projects of interest to the two countries.
