The Minister of information society and administration Ivo Ivanovski was elected Tuesday chairman of the World Telecommunications Policy Forum, held in Geneva, Switzerland.

He was introduced by Dr Hamadoun Touré the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Minister Ivanovski thanked the attendees for their support and trust to chair the World Telecommunication Policy Forum and said that it was a great responsibility at the same time in bringing important decisions and results.

In his addressing, Ivanovski referred to the Government's efforts for allocation of the so-called digital dividend through digitization of TV stations and announcement of the 4G call for mobile operators.

The forum brings together more than 120 ministers, government officials, representatives of the private sector, civil society and international organizations. It is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in order to encourage a debate where views and opinions can be presented as an illustration of a mutual vision for managing the global ITU policy.

After the opening ceremony in presence of over fifty government ministers from around the world, the forum also discussed about the new trends and innovations in the eco-system.
