Arsovska Tomovska at the opening of the NASA 'Space App Challenge 2015'

For the third year Macedonia is part of a worldwide event, the NASA 'Space App Challenge 2015' organized by 'NewMan’s Business Accelerator' in Skopje, in cooperation with youth and student organizations. The International Space Apps Challenge is a two-day hackathon where teams across the globe collaborate and engage with publicly available data to design innovative solutions for global challenges such as earth preservation and space exploration.


"It is a great pleasure to see our young developers, designers, innovators, entrepreneurs facing challenges and competing with their colleagues from other countries and achieving great results", said Deputy Minister of Information Society and Administration, Marta Arsovska Tomovska. Speaking at the event she stated: "As a country we are more prepared every day for these challenges and more respected. We are becoming more attractive place to many distinguished companies in the world so in my opinion, Macedonia is a source of creative and talented young people".


Arsovska Tomovska added: ”Ministry of Information Society and Administration is fully committed to ICT promotion and development of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in general, especially among young programmers". The event takes place in Skopje and for the first time in Tetovo, Ohrid and Bitola. Also, at the same time in at least 130 cities worldwide involving more than 10,000 participants.


In 2014, Skopje was positioned as a leader globally, with the largest number of implemented solutions to given projects. Moreover, one of the teams won the 2nd place at global level in one of the categories.
