'Open Data Hackathon'( from 3rd to 22nd of June)

Minister of Information Society and Administration Ivo Ivanovski and the General Manager of Microsoft office in Macedonia Stefan Plavjanski announced the beginning of the 'Open Data Hackathon': programmers, students and start-up companies will be working on Open Data Applications until June 22nd.


"With 154 open databases available, the Republic of Macedonia is leader in the region and beyond" Ivanovski said, adding that this recognition came from the Open Data Institute. "Our country serves as an example on how open data contributes to the overall development of society".


Citizens are already using newly created applications." The outcome is very positive", he said. ”According to the statistics, most popular is the database of kindergarten addresses – 265 downloads, then Entry-Exit database and licenses issued by Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning".
